Todd Nauck Long Beach Comic Expo Convention Commission List CODE for Feb 19, 2017

February 18th, 2017 No comments

This is your opportunity to possibly get on my Long Beach Comic Expo convention commission for Saturday, February 18, 2017.
Send me an email to mail@wildguard.com with the following information:
THE LIST FOR SUNDAY IS CURRENTLY CLOSED.
THERE IS STILL ONE SPOT AVAILABLE ON SUNDAY VIA A ROLL OF THE DICE. VISIT MY TABLE AT 10:30 FOR THAT OPPORTUNITY TO GET A CHANCE AT THAT LAST SPOT.

The CODE WORD: CHICKEN TACO, in the email’s subject heading.
In the email’s body, I need:

  1. Your name.
  2. State if you are an attendee or exhibitor.
(I allow only one exhibitor on my commission list for each day of the convention. The other spots are allotted for attendees.)
  3. The type of commission you’re looking for (see options listed below).
  4. The name of character you would like for that commission.
  5. At least 3 alternate characters (in case I am not able to fulfill your first character suggestion request).
  6. Specify if you want your commission on my art board or if you are bringing a sketch cover or sketch book for your commission.
  7. List which days of the con you will be attending.
(NOTE: You MUST be attending that convention to be on the list for that specific convention weekend. I will not be able to mail any commissions out from or after the convention.)

If I reply back, you are on that next day’s list! I will reply with how you can pay for your commission to lock it in.
I will either draw your commission on the con floor that next day or finish it in the hotel that next night for pick up the following day (and there is the slight possibility I will draw a commission or commissions the night of accepting requests, time permitting).

YOU MUST BRING YOUR I.D. and CONVENTION BADGE/PASS FOR COMMISSION PICK-UP!

Due to the number of emails I may receive, I cannot guarantee I will be able to reply if you do not make the next day’s list. So if you haven’t heard back from me by the following morning, my list for that day has filled.

And it’s possible I may offer one other option of getting a commission on the show floor on the days of the convention.
At this time, if there is still space on my list for that day, 30 minutes after the convention opens for general admission, I will allow people who are not on my list to roll dice for that last spot. The first person to roll double numbers will be able to take that last slot on that day’s list.
Here are my current convention commission prices/options!
Due to the number of requests for my commissions, I can only allow one commission per person per convention in hopes of accommodating more people.
All commissions are single character!

  • Head shot black and white on 7″x10″ (roughly) art board, on your sketch cover comic, or personal sketchbook: $50
  • Head shot color Copic markers on 7″x10″ (roughly) art board, on your sketch cover comic, or personal sketchbook: $80
  • Half figure black and white on 9″x12″ art board, on your sketch cover comic, or personal sketchbook: $150
  • Half figure color Copic markers on 9″x12″ art board, on your sketch cover comic, or personal sketchbook: $220
*NOTE: Commission requests that require celebrity or actor likenesses may be declined. No personal or your creator-owned characters, please.

I’ll also have some 9×12 pre-drawn studio commissions and 11×17 original comic art pages for sale at my table as well as limited edition prints and sketchbooks.
Visit this link for more info!

Thanks for participating and good luck!

THE LIST FOR SATURDAY IS CURRENTLY CLOSED.

THE CODE WORD FOR EMAILS FOR SUNDAY’S COMMISSION LIST POSTS HERE ON MY SITE SATURDAY NIGHT AT 8PM.

The CODE WORD: CHEESEBURGER, in the email’s subject heading.
In the email’s body, I need:

Due to the number of emails I may receive, I cannot guarantee I will be able to reply if you do not make the next day’s list. So if you haven’t heard back from me by the following morning, my list for that day has filled.

I will repeat this email process with a new code word each night before the next day of that convention. So if you didn’t get on my list on Friday night for Saturday’s list, there is always Saturday night’s code word to get a shot at Sunday’s list.
Remember! Each code word is ONLY for that following day’s list! So the weekend would look kinda like this (depending on length of the specific convention):

  • Saturday night code word email for Sunday’s list

And it’s possible I may offer one other option of getting a commission on the show floor on the days of the convention.
At this time, if there is still space on my list for that day, 30 minutes after the convention opens for general admission, I will allow people who are not on my list to roll dice for that last spot. The first person to roll double numbers will be able to take that last slot on that day’s list.

During a given convention weekend, you click “RETWEET” on any and/or all of MY commissioned sketches hashtagged for that convention weekend on my Twitter account. (Other artist sketches are not part of my Sketch Retweet Contest.)

After the convention, I use a random number generator to find a winner from all those that retweeted any/all of my convention sketches hashtagged for that weekend.
You do not have to attend the convention to participate. It is open to people with a Twitter account (one Twitter account per person) both in the U.S. and International. Good Luck!

The contest runs Friday, July 29 to Sunday July 31, 2016. The winner should be announced sometime around Monday, Aug, 2016 or later.

MORE CONVENTION DATES TO COME!
(Don’t see your local convention listed? Let your convention organizers know you want to see me at their con as a guest!)
NOTE: Though I attend many SoCal conventions, I will NOT be exhibiting at WonderCon LA this year.

AUTOGRAPHS:
I will sign most comics for free.
Due to the highly speculative nature of retailer variant cover comics, there will be a charge of $5 per comic for signatures on those comics.
Click HERE for the full list of my variant cover comics that require an autograph fee.

My signing times at my Artist Alley table are every two hours for 30min:
10:00-10:30am, 12:00-12:30pm, 2:00-2:30pm, 4:00-4:30pm, and 6:00pm-6:30pm/or close of the show. Sometimes panels, interviews, or booth appearances overlap with these times, so check my table for time changes or updates.
I’ll also have my new full color Sketchbook: RED, art prints and some original art/commissions for sale.

COMMISSIONED ART
Here are my current convention commission prices/options and how it works for me during the weekend. (These are not my studio commission prices!)
I will be taking a new commission list at the beginning of each day of the con.
The list has a limited number of spots (which vary in number at each con depending on size of con, demand, and my other convention responsibilities for that day) so hit my table early to make sure you get on the list. My list can fill up fast!

Some cons offer VIP or advanced ticket entry allowing certain attendees onto the con floor an hour before general admission. In these cases, I allow for limited spots for VIP/advance ticket holders AND limited spots for general admission attendees each day.
I only allow ONE exhibitor badge holder (or “in the con before show opens” spot whether it be exhibitor, artist alley, pro, press, VIP or general attendee) on my list each day. The other spots are reserved for the VIP and general admission attendees after the show opens.
Be sure to research your convention’s entry guidelines and locations to make sure you’re in the right spot at the right time for expedient entry.

Due to my current work
schedule, I may only be able to take 3 or 4 commissions each day.

Convention Commission specs (single character*):

  • Head shot black and white on 7″x10″ (roughly) art board, sketch cover, or personal sketchbook: $50
  • Head shot color Copic markers on 7″x10″ (roughly) art board, sketch cover, or personal sketchbook: $80
  • Half figure black and white on 9″x12″ art board, sketch cover, or personal sketchbook: $150
  • Half figure color Copic markers on 9″x12″ art board, sketch cover, or personal sketchbook: $220
*NOTE: Commission requests that require celebrity or actor likenesses may be declined.
    * Your Creator-owned characters are not eligible for convention commissions.
  • Sunday commissions may be relegated to only head shots depending on time constraints.

I hope this info helps. There is a possibility info could be updated or changed between now and the convention, so stay tuned to my social networks or subscribe to my the RSS feed for possible updates.
