C2E2 2014 Sketch Retweet Contest Rules and info

RTiconRULES and REGULATIONS!!!
When retweeting one of my sketches during one of my convention sketch retweet contests…
JUST click the RETWEET “square arrow” button!
I’ve found some people use the older method of quote retweets or RT retweets. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find each of those individual retweets.
So from here on out, any other or older method, like quote retweets or RT retweets, will NOT be included in the running for the sketch prize.
ONLY “retweet button” clicks are eligible for the sketch prize.

The contest runs from the first day of the convention weekend to the day after the convention. Any rewteets of any sketches after the winner has been announced are not valid for the sketch prize.

I’ve been doing my Sketch Retweet Contest on my Twitter feed during my convention appearances for two years now. It’s my way of bringing a bit of the convention to you. The response to these “contests” has been great! And growing! Each batch of convention sketches gets more and more retweets. Some of you discovered my work through one of my contests.
I appreciate the support from new and long-time fans alike. Thank you for faithfully retweeting my sketches to your Twitter followers during each of my conventions. I hope y’all are having as much fun as I do during the convention weekend.

Over the past few conventions and the growing number of sketch retweets, I’m finding certain Twitter parameters makes tracking each retweet more and more challenging. So in an effort to make sure everyone continues to get a fair shot at the original sketch prize I am instituting that new rule posted at the beginning.

The “retweet button” clicks are very simple for me to find on the Twitter Trackback site I use. And with the increasing volume of retweets, I need to keep things easy, clean, and clear. I still have work deadlines to get back into after each convention! 🙂

I thank you all again for your continued support and enjoyment of my work!
I’m at C2E2 in Chicago, IL this weekend. The contest runs Friday, April 25 to Monday April 28th when the winner will be announced.
Remember! You DO NOT have to attend the convention to retweet sketches for a chance at the sketch prize. It is open to anyone, anywhere, with a Twitter account!
So keep on retweeting those sketches! (with the retweet button, please!)

Invincible Universe #12 to Nightcrawler #1

invincibleuniverse_12Invincible Universe 12 is on sale today.
Unfortunately, it is the last issue of Invincible Universe. I’ve had a great time working with Phil Hester, Sean Mackiewicz, Rus Wooten, Gabe Eltaeb, Andy Troy, John Rauch, Sina Grace, and of course, creator Robert Kirkman, along with the rest of the amazing Skybound crew. I have been reading Invincible since issue #1, so when Robert invited me to draw this companion series (originally entitled Guarding the Globe Vol 2), it was an easy decision to make!

This series has been a lot of fun to draw and I learned how to pencil/ink a series on a monthly basis.
I definitely have enjoyed the 2 years I got to work with these characters and contribute to Robert’s superhero universe. And even though, Invincible Universe has come to an end (at least for the time being), I’m still considered a part of the Skybound family and appreciate all the friends I have made there!

Nightcrawler_1_Preview_1

As one story ended, another began.
I recieved a call from Marvel asking if I was available for a new project and interested in drawing a new X-Men spin-off series. Having read X-Men since I was 13 years old, I of course said “Yes!”. I started to work on a new Nightcrawler solo series written by legendary X-Men writer, Chris Claremont. I started reading Uncanny X-Men during the Claremont years and Nightcrawler has been a longtime favorite X-Men of mine. So this series is a dream-come-true project for me.
Nightcrawler #1 is on sale next Wednesday, April 9th.

Robot Chicken DC Comics Special 2 Charity Art Show

Lex Luthor: Flawless Design.
My submission to the Robot Chicken DC Comics Special 2 charity art show this Friday, March 28, 2014 at iam8bit Art Gallery in Los Angeles.

From the Stoopid Buddy Stoodios event page:
”For the third year in a row, we’re teaming up with Stoopid Buddy Stoodios for another Robot Chicken extravaganza. But this time, it’s even crazier – because DC Comics is involved, too. Lots of your favorite Robot Chicken and DC artists (and other special friends) will be displaying their work, with all proceeds going to a wonderful charity, OPCC’s Turning Point.
An interim housing program at OPCC, Turning Point tailors services to the needs of each person to help them rebuild their lives and end their homelessness for good. Through key services such as housing, mental health and medical care, substance abuse treatment and assistance in obtaining income, Turning Point aims to improve the sufficiency of the most vulnerable in our community. And they’re having great success: 95% of individuals housed by Turning Point are never homeless again. Compare that to the national average, where only 65% of people housed actually stay housed.”

NIGHTCRAWLER #1 preview pages

NIGHTCRAWLER #1 preview! Issue #1 on sale April 9th.

This April, an X-Men legend returns. Prolific and iconic X-Men writer Chris Claremont teams with fan favorite artist Todd Nauck for NIGHTCRAWLER #1 – a swashbuckling new ongoing series that’s sure to have everyone talking!

“He’s smart, tough, creative and daring, with an instinctive understanding of people and situations. He has a wicked sense of humor and a devastating charm,” says Claremont, in an interview with Marvel.com. “His ‘normal’ is revolutionary to most people; throw him a problem, he’ll find a way to solve it that’s unique to him. He quite simply is the kind of man others trust; to know him is to have faith in him.”

When Nightcrawler sacrificed his life to protect mutantkind, a hole was left in the X-Men’s ranks that has never been filled. With his recent resurrection in the pages of Amazing X-Men, Kurt Wagner has returned to a world far different from the one he left behind. Charles Xavier is dead. Scott Summers is on the run. Even Wolverine, his closest friend, has changed, becoming the headmaster of the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning. And though a deep schism divides the X-Men, Kurt Wagner isn’t going to waste one minute of his new lease on life.

Now, Nightcrawler is hitting the road, eager to right some wrongs and help safeguard the future of mutantkind. And he’s going to do it the only way he knows how: swashbuckling, lady-charming, and of course BAMFing!

Don’t miss the start of a brand new adventure as Nightcrawler and Chris Claremont make their triumphant return to the X-Men for NIGHTCRAWLER #1 – teleporting its way into comic shops this April!
