I’m so inspired by your artwork Ive seen your artwork in the book freaks with other artists like Steve Miller Arthur Adams and others and Ive just now heard of you and I’m like only in forth grade but none the less I’m still an artist just like you (not as good but still an artist) so yeah love your work bye.
Hey Todd love your work question is there a way to order a sketch card of a comic character if so how much and what is the actual size, and cost and where can I order one from.
Thank you, Tom
Thanks for the support!
You can get on my commission waiting list. Send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll add you to the waiting list. When I open my commission queue back up, I’ll email all those on the list and tackle a certain number probably on a “first-come first-served” basis. Thanks!
Simply stopping by to say I love your work. I first came across your stuff on DeviantArt. Huge fan. Keep up the good work.
HEY can I just say I love the way you draw Iron Man/Tony? I finally got my hands on Iron Age #3 and it’s awesome. Tony actually looks the way I always see him in my head for once (i.e., handsome and not too old, despite what Dazzler thinks :P). Hope to see you working on some other stuff with him in the future! I love your art.
Hi. Loving your work and excited to meet you at LBCC. Was wondering if you’d ever be interested in being a guest lecturer/artist at an art museum? I’m the director of marketing for the Bakersfield Museum of Art and would love to get your input on a couple of ideas! Thanks!!
Just ran across your site! Some great stuff here! It’s an inspiration to continue to put drawings on my site (on a regular basis of course)! See you in the funny pages!
Todd, amazing work. I just left you a few messages and would like to speak to you soon. regards,
Just wanted to say that I LOVE your art. I really like what you did on Dustman issue #476! Also saw a picture of a white SUV that I think you did by hand and it had a lot artwork of people from the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. Keep up the great work! I’m a follower for life!
I’m a fan from Indonesia. Love your art and where can I contact you for a commission?
Thanks a lot
Thanks! You can email me at email@example.com to get on my commission wait list.
You Sir, are awesome!

Love your style.
your awesome and can you do cable or punisher they’re one of my favorite characters so please your the best thanks
Hey Todd, first off I’m a big fan of yours. I really enjoy your videos and the technical breakdowns…
I want to buy a set of 72 Copic’s and I was wondering if you could make a recommendation on which color set would be the right choice for me? I mainly do comic illustration and a bit of anime stuff.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Keep the videos coming!!!
It’s great you’re into Copic markers. I started with some warm and cool grays. Then I slowly built my collection of colors buying single markers. I wouldn’t be able to advise which set is best to get since I’m not familiar with which sets they offer.
But I’m sure a 72 marker set would set you up with a great foundation of colors.
Good luck with your art!
I just wanted to say what a talented artist and inspiration you are. My brother told me to look into your work to learn more about using Copic markers because we are planning to do a comic book and I was asked by all three of my brothers working on it to rekindle my love or comic inking and coloring. Watching you work has really given me insight into how the markers can be used to create brilliant comic book coloring. I will definitely keep watching your videos to learn more from someone as amazing as you are.
todd interested in a wolverine commision something small with color on a tight budget but id like to own something original from you. thanks in advance and thanks for all the great videos..al
Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org for commission status and info.
Hi Todd, big fan here, love your work, some of the tightest line work I’ve seen since Mike Golden or Art Adams, also really looking forward to the Nightcrawler book..thank God he’s BACK LOL! Just wondering about commission prices…I’m a huge Kamandi fan and I would love to see what you could do with that character.
Thank you for your time.
Todd, saw that Spider-Man you did on a post it note! Very interesting and was wondering what you sell it for?
Great work and loving the character post it’s if you are ever thinking of selling these please let us know as would be great to own some of your original work. Thanks

I’m a big fan of yours and I was wondering how much the sketches are and depending on the price have couple drawn
You can email me to get info about my commission wait list at email@example.com.
Hey Todd huge fan of your work and love your drawings! i would be HONORED to have a colossus commission piece from you for my collection! Between you Jim Lee and Todd Mcfarline ive now reached out to all of you to try and have a commission piece done. but the way you layer with the copic markers is insane and im trying to learn how to layer like you, i watch all your YouTube videos and yes i am learning. i wish i never stopped drawing as a kid and continued with it but ive picked the pencil back up recently and have spent some money on some supplies. but to have a colossus piece done by you would be amazing! thanks Todd keep up the awesome work and keep on inspiring people….including myself! you def are an inspiration!
Thanks! Shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org to get on my wait list!
Hey Todd, I’m a freshman or freshmen in high school. I would look at ypir drawings and draw them by looking at the photi and drawing at the same time. I have comment on your photos on instagram as dylan2000_4_life. I’ve reaaly wanted to meet you or talki to you once in life but not that much comic book artists have time for that lol. The reason why I really wanted to talk to ypu because I heard you were a believer in god and christ, when I heard about it in one of the interviews you had on youtube, I was excited knowing that one of my favorite artists in the world knows the truth. I’ve been having a hard time of having my own style in art. I really like to have advice from like heads and the whole torso of the body.
Thanks for enjoying my art and videos. And, yep! I’ve been a Christian since age 12. The road hasn’t always been easy, but the Lord has been kind and gracious to me! I’m very thankful for the blessings in my life.
As for drawing heads and torsos, that is challenging. Look into “How To Draw Comics” books and life drawing books, like Burne Hogarth’s “Dynamic Anatomy”.
Try drawing from real life/photos whenever possible.
And practice daily! It takes a a LOT of practice!!!
Thank you, I may have emailed you about christianity and such. On twitter I mostly tweet to you always about simple stuff or inform you any art equipment. You probably remembered gregorygoins508@gmail emailed you about god and close friend relationship. Even though that I tweet you time to time. I feel like we have this close friendship. I hope you don’t mind about that at all. It just not common to me to talk to one of my favorite comic book artists. I just love talking to you and to others who believe. I really wanna thank you for actually replying time to time on twitter because some comic book artist don’t really. I do know that sometimes you can’t reply right away, because of all the deadlines for the Nightcrawler series and the Amazing Spiderman, Teen Titans, and Young Justice. I also have those kind of moments becuase I would draw time to time and my friends or family would want to do something else and I would try to draw the picture now so that I can get it over with and give the commision to the people at church because sometimes they would ask to draw something and I sketch it and give it to them. Sometimes, I can think of the feel of the comic book industry. Thank you Todd, for being such a good close friend on Twitter, and showing your artwork to all of us including me.
Sincerly, Dylan Goins from Twitter! 🙂
Hello Todd , I would like your advise on how I could write and draw my own comic.
Check out the book “How To Draw Comics the Marvel Way” (or any “how to draw Comics” book) to get the foundational knowledge.
Then just go for it! That;s what I did as a kid. I just folded printer paper in half and started making my own comics and printing them on a copy machine.
You can also do you comic as a web comic online or find a one-off printing company to print as many full-sized comics as you need/can afford!
Just have fun and you can learn a lot through experimenting/trial and error!
What art supplies do you use?
I use a lot of different art supplies! I label the supplies I use in my art videos at youtube.com/toddnauck.
A quick run down of my supplies:
Strathmore smooth Bristol board, 9×12 and 11×17
Sakura Pigma Micron pens, sizes 08, 05, 01, 005
Uni Kuru Toga mechanical pencils .5 and l3 HB lead
Staedtler Mars plastic eraser
Pentel pocket brush pen
Copic Sketch markers
Windsor Newton watercolors
Can you do a color print of Mary Marvel in the red and yellow costume. If you can do it just tell me how much with the shipping also your home address too.I hope you take moneyorders.
Please write back.
Thanks for the interest in my commissioned art!
My commission list is closed at this time. I have a number of commissions I’m committed to do on my current queue of requests amidst my current work deadlines.
I can add your name and email to a list of those interested in getting a commission. When I open the list back up, I will have info on art size and prices.
We can then discuss what you would want (pencils, pencils/inks, extra characters, detailed backgrounds, etc).
Just shoot me an email at email@example.com
The wait has averaged about 2-3 years. So it’s good to get on the list now! 🙂
Hey Todd! I was going to go and pick up a pack of 12 cool gray copic sketch markers but then I realized that the markers wouldn’t work so well on the printer paper I use. I was wondering if you could tell me what paper you use your markers on or any suggestions of what paper I should get. Right now I am thinking strathmore multimedia.
Alsp, I was thinking about picking up a set of watercolors. I thought it would be easy to choose which one to get but when I looked online there were so many. I plan in using the Pentel Arts Aquash Water Brushes (those are the ones you use, right) I was wondering if you cold tell me what watercolors you use, or suggest an affordable beginner water color set.
This would help me so much.
It’s great you are drawing!
I do Copic illustrations on Strathmore smooth Bristol board.
For watercolors, I use Windsor Newton. I have a small travel set that works great. Got it at Arron Bothers framing and art supply stores.
Keep on drawing!
Hello Mr. Nauck. My name is Avian. My boyfriend is a total fanatic of your artwork sketches he sees through your Instagram page and wants to be just like you one day. His birthday is coming up soon and the only one thing he asks for is a spider man sketch signed by Todd Nauck. I’d really love to make his wish come true. If you can please help me out, that would be amazing. If you can do so, Please check out his Instagram @luluisvkilla as he would also love to be an aspiring artist one day. I’d love to keep in contact through email with you. Please make his birthday come true! Thank you for your time!
Thanks for the post! I hope your boyfriend has a great birthday! My commission list is really full at this time and the wait is 2-3 years for one of my studio commissions. If you’re interested in getting on that list, please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. All the best!
My name is George, I’m 14, and I just wanted to say that you are awesome at what you do. You are an inspiration to me and many others and you are also a great teacher! I follow you on all of your social media, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and now Copic Colour (which I have just joined!) and I have watched all of your YouTube videos; I especially love the post-it-note sketches!
If you have the time, please could you check out my Copic Colour (http://copiccolour.com/georgestockbridge) and just tell me how I could improve 🙂
Thanks for your time, keep up the outstanding work 🙂
Your biggest fan, George Stockbridge
Are you coming to Sydney Comic con this year?
I’d love to come to a comic con is Sydney. But no plans this year.
Feel free to let the con organizers know you’d like to see me there as a guest! Cheers!
I viewed your periscope video yesterday where you drew a quick Spiderman ink wash sketch. It was amazing! I love the sketch so much that I was wondering if you are willing to sell it. Please respond whenever you can. Btw is there an email I can contact? So we can talk about this privately. Thanks.
I am a huge fan of your work and art. I am also going to nycc on Saturday, and I do hope to meet you there. I am a young artist. A while back I asked you for advice on what watercolors to get, and your reply helped me find a great set. I was wondering if you are planning on making a watercolor tutorial video on you tube. I saw the video of you coloring rose tyler, which helped so much (btw. I love dr who also, I just am way behind in the beginning of season 8.) Another question I have is about copic markers. I already have the 12 copic cool gray sketch markers, but I want to add colored copics to my drawings. I think I want copic ciaos, because they are cheaper, but I heard that copic sketch markers can be better in the long run. Honestly, I’m not sure which to go with, but I am leaning towards the ciaos because they fit my budget much better than sketch markers. I was wondering if you can give me some advice and(if you can) recommend a specific set for me to start with. Also I don’t mind if I have to buy the grays again. I hope this isn’t too long. Your opinion is priceless to me.
Would you please do a sketch of “Maggie” from falling skies?
Thanks for coming to Salt Lake this year! And thanks again for the Thor commission. It is absolutely fantastic! Hope you come back next year and we continue to get more top artists such as yourself!
Thanks! It was great meeting you and a fun con weekend. I appreciate Salt Lake’s invite to the con. I hope to be invited back again in the future!
Hi Todd! Are planning to attend middle Georgia con this next year? I’d love to meet you. You’re a huge inspiration for my art and I’ve learned a lot from watching your YouTube videos and would like for you to check out my portfolio and critic it 🙂
I don’t currently have plans to attend Middle Georgia Con this year. But stay tuned to my site for my convention appearance updates! I’m glad my YT vids are a help to you and your art!
Hey! I’m just wondering if you would be available to take requests for periscopes or post it sketches that you could post on instagram. I really love your work, and if possible could you instagram message me @jsmams? thank you in advance
Thanks for the inquiry. I am not currently able to accommodate character sketch requests. You are welcome to suggest characters. i just can’t guarantee or promise I can draw that character. Thanks for watching my Periscope broadcasts!
Just received your sketchbooks in the post! They’re awesome! Thank you! Regards
So glad you like them! Thanks for supporting my art!
Hey Todd do you have a list of your copic markers. I would love to know
Sure! You can see my collection at copiccolor.com/toddnauck.
I had the opportunity to meet you and Dawn at your Comix Connection appearance.
Thank you, both of you, for reviewing my work and all of the great advice!
You guys were very approachable and informative.
Now I am reinvigorated to work on more submission art and upload it to my pending tumblr account. haha!
Great seeing you at the store signing. Hope you had a great holiday. All the best with your art and submissions. Keep on drawing and keep having fun!
Mr. Nauck I’m a huge fan since back in the Young Justice days, I love all your social media videos/lessons you put up. I took up drawing and you are a huge inspiration. I was wondering if you could post more of your roughs/thumbnail work? There is so much energy, and information in the construction process compared to the finished product to see how you actually construct posses with your rough shapes. I’m not sure if this is possible I just came across a few you put out there over the years and saw the ones from one of your youtube broadcast that you put out recently and thought it might be possible. That and please put the Switch periscope broadcast on youtube that picture is just perfecton. Thank you so much for all you give back to the fans
Mr Nauck Thank you for the SW Periscope on youtube that was really quick, and I too love the X-men Evo show. Hope you can do the thumbnail stuff you are the best.
Firstly your work is fantastic! Secondly, I was wondering if it is possible to purchase prints of your work at all? I completely understand that you’re not currently taking commissions and have sent an email to be on your wait list. However, my husband and I are huge fans of your work and our first wedding anniversary is coming up in a couple of weeks and I was hoping that I might be able to give him a piece of your work, so was wondering if it is possible to buy a pre-existing print of your work?
Hello, I would like to commission a sketch. I will be at THE NYCC in October, is it possible to advance order one and pick it up there? ? Thank you
