1960′s X-Men: Jean Grey
I drew this Jean Grey piece for fun during some downtime last week.
The original X-Men class uniforms are a great design!
Drawn with Copic warm gray markers and Pigma Micron markers.
New Mutants 2011
One of my favorite team books. Especially the original series.
Glad the team is back together again (except for Wolfsbane). Great to see Abnett and Lanning writing the series now.
Did this piece for fun a few months back. Was considering making a print of it.
Apocalypse from X-Factor… or “Ol’ Blue Lips is Back…”
I was a kid when Apocalypse first appeared in the pages of X-Factor.
He was such a simple bad guy back then: morphing, stretching, some experimenting, and world domination planning…
Ah, the good ol’ days….
Drawn with Copic, Pigma Micron, and Tria markers.

My Hero Initiative New Avengers #1 sketch cover is up for auction. Give it a look. Place a bid. Help the cause.

Thanks!
Secret Wars Spider-Woman
When I first started reading comics as a kid, I started in the middle of the Marvel SuperHeroes Secret Wars (issues #7-9).
That’s where I discovered Spider-Woman. My first thought was “Who is this lady?!? She doesn’t look like the red one from the cartoon!”
But I kept reading and didn’t let that slow me down. I’d later learn who was who and didn’t let two Spider-Women throw me.
I guess she’s called Arachne now. But to me, she’ll always be Secret Wars Spider-Woman!
Drawn with Copic, Pigma Micron, TRIA, and Sharpie markers, with WhiteOut.
Donna Troy art for Dallas Comic Con Auction
I created this original piece featuring DC Comic’s Donna Troy for the auction this weekend at the Dallas Comic Con, May 21-22.
I’m not sure when the auction will be held, so be sure to check the program book or ask one of the event staff so you don’t miss it!
This piece measures 11″x17″ on Bristol board and was drawn with Copic markers, Pigma Micron markers, India ink and a little white gouache paint.
My Art on Extreme Makeover Home Edition 2011
If you just saw the season finale to Extreme Makeover Home Edition and wondered who drew the art for that episode, your Google search has led you to the right place!
I had the honor of working with Marvel Custom Solutions and colorist John Rauch to contribute artwork on Sunday, May 15th’s, Extreme Makeover Home Edition finale. It was a very cool project and a lot of fun to be a part of this episode. I hope Patrick enjoys his new house and superhero murals for his room! That is one cool kid!
If you’re new to comics or unfamiliar with my professional work, here’s some info about me. I have been drawing comics for the past 17 years for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, and Image Comics. I’ve worked on a number of popular superhero comics like Spider-Man, Teen Titans, Young Justice, including the historic and best-selling comic, Amazing Spider-Man #583 the Spider-Man/Obama Team-Up.
I post art here on my blog fairly regularly. Subscribe to the RSS feed for updates as I upload more art and announce upcoming projects and appearances. Feel free to also follow me on Twitter and “like” my Facebook page.
If you like what you see you can find my comics at your local comic shop or book store. I also have the first volume of my sketchbook available for sale. You can order it right there on the right-hand side of the screen. I’ll be happy to autograph your copy as well.
Thanks for looking me up! Hope you stop by often.
If you missed the episode on Sunday, it will be viewable on the Extreme Makeover Home Edition page on ABC’s website.
Todd Nauck Convention Appearances May-July 2011
Hey, friends and fans! Here are the comic conventions I’ll be at in the next few months.
Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo, June 17-19
San Diego Comic-Con, July 20-24
If you’re near any of these cities, come on by the show and say “Hi!”. I’ll be available to sign your comics and trade paperbacks. I’ll also have original comic art, prints, and sketchbooks for sale. And I will be drawing my convention style commission sketches: single character, headshot, penciled/marker inked on 7″x10″ board (or in your sketchbook/blank comic cover).
